Critically Injured Child Found in Park Near Woman's Body, Police Say

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A critically injured child was found early Thursday in a park near the body of a woman, according to Asheville police.

A jogger found the body of the woman, who was in her 20s, just after 6 a.m. at Jones Park near Ira B. Jones Elementary School, police said.

Police said the injured child was found in the same area. The child was taken to Mission Hospital just before 6:30 a.m.
